The Museum’s Education Department makes learning about art enjoyable and intellectually stimulating through a wide array of programs for all audiences: first-time visitors; families with young children; students on a class visit or teachers seeking guidance in incorporating art into school curricula. The Museum Education Department also coordinates the training of future and current museum professionals through internships and forming relationships with many departments at The University of Mississippi.
Every year, we present events and programs that allow our visitors to connect meaningfully with the art on view. Children can participate in Art Zone, Mini Masters, Summer Camps, and Family Activity Days. Adults can participate in Adult Studio Workshops, Brown Bag Lectures, and gallery receptions. Each month, we do outreach programs to the Oxford-Lafayette Public Library, Leap Frog, and area schools through our Traveling Trunk program.
